Client Need:
Sanford approached Intex looking for rugged IP66 Touchscreen computer systems to install at each weighing station of their seafood processing plant. They wanted to use off the shelf computers to reduce both hardware and software costs but needed an enclosure system suitable for food processing that could be washed down, was user friendly and delivered as a full touchscreen plug and play system.
Solution:
Intex worked closely with Sanford's IT department and executive team to design and specify a solution that would be suitable for food processing. The product would need to withstand being regularly washed down with the required cleaning chemicals. Stainless steel IP66 enclosures, from the SPYDER range, were customised with an ELO touchscreen system from Tyco. The product can be pole mounted or operated on a boom.
Result:
The customised SPYDER range product was designed and manufactured within the client’s budget and was successfully installed and tested at the processing plant and continues to meet needs.
