Enclosures for a demanding environment

Intex design and manufacture all military enclosures, boxes, parts as well as instrument and patch panels to exact Mil-Spec Standards. A Certificate of Conformance confirming Intex’ compliance with the specifications is issued with all defence-commissioned hardware.

Intex’ uses specialised materials and finishing ensuring the rugged Defence hardware solutions withstand the harshest of demands; be it on land, sea or in the air.

Parts & Assemblies

Intex uses capabilities to provide complex CNC machined/turned and laser fabricated parts to meet requirements. Enclosures, cases and boxes requiring additional parts can be manufactured together and delivered as a KIT or as a fully assembled turnkey solution. Parts and assemblies such as:

  • Mounting plates
  • Brackets
  • Standoffs
  • Specialist Fastenings
  • ID plates
  • Insulator blocks
  • Heatsinks
  • Bus connectors
  • Required connectors, switches and cable harnesses (supplied and assembled at manufacturing stage allowing the applicational check to ensure there is a perfect fit)
  • Electromechanical parts: manufactured and tested in-house and assembled into “sub assemblies”, reducing time and expense during final assembly.

Patch Panels

Intex' patch panels will withstand the harshest, most rugged applications. Our panels are manufactured with the following features, tailored to meet our client’s strict specifications:

  • Aluminium, Steel AS/NZS 1594-HA1, Stainless Steel
  • Abrasive Blasting conforming to AS1627 using non metalic abrasive garnet
  • Pre treatment of Aluminium conversion coat to MIL-C-5541 Class 1a and 3
  • Pre treatment of Ferrous materials phosphated in accordance with AS1627.6 Class B
  • Specailist Coatings, Wet Spray to APAS-0154/9 , Hard Anodised
  • Text and Connector Marking ,stencilled, screen printed, lasered and engraved (backfilled) conforming to MIL-STD-130.

Illuminated Panels

What makes Intex a successful supplier to the military industry is our unique consulting process. Attentive to our clients’ specific needs, Intex’ bespoke solutions adhere to strict quality assurance programs (ISO9000:2002) and comply with exact Mil-Spec standards.

Each and every panel supplied by Intex, requiring a switch or plug fitting, undergoes a rigorous applicational check. We test and confirm that the cutout for a switch or plug fits and therefore meets its application, checking that the design drawing is correct rather than just accepting it is so.

Military vehicles fitted with illuminated panels custom built by Intex, benefit from state-of-the-art technology, designed specifically for rugged dark environments with no bright spots. Instrument panels are manufactured with either LED lighting or incandescent illumination enhancing visibility, with clear contrasting text.

We specialise in the manufacture of custom Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS), for either new projects, or to upgrade existing instrumentation. Look to Intex to transform non-NVIS panels to be NVIS compatible using our illumination capabilities, eliminating the need for you to use external lighting.
