Instrument & Illuminated Panels

Due to Intex' extensive experience, comprehensive capabilities and unique consulting process, Intex has built a solid reputation in the Aerospace industry globally, with panels being used in many different types of Military, Civil and General Aviation Aircraft. Attention to specific needs dictated by the client, Intex’ bespoke solutions adhere to strict quality assurance programs (ISO9000:2002) and comply with exact Mil-Spec standards.

Each and every panel requiring a switch or plug fitting, undergoes a rigorous applicational check. We test and confirm that the cutout for a switch or plug fits and therefore meets its application, checking that the design drawing is correct rather than just accepting it is so.

Aerospace solutions fitted with illuminated panels custom built or refurbished by Intex, benefit from state-of-the-art technology, designed specifically for demanding dark environments with no bright spots. Instrument panels are manufactured with either LED lighting or incandescent illumination enhancing visibility, with clear contrasting text. Specialist illuminated panel finishes, including real wood grain to match interiors, suit any fitout, for VIP private jets, Commercial and General Aviation (GA). Custom "Return to Seat" and "Fasten Seatbelt" placards and annunciators can be deigned and supply to suit any interior. Instrument Bezels for retro fitting illumination using LED, Incandescent and Green NVIS to suit any configuration for Military, Civilian and General Aviation.

Intex enclosures and customised solutions include:

  • Illuminated panel manufactured or refurbished to SAE AS-7788 (formerly MIL-P-7788). Specification type III, IV, V, VI and VII
  • NVIS/NVG (night vision) compatibility conforming to MIL-STD-3009 and MIL-L-85762
  • Supply of Line Replaceable Units (LRU): including facia panels, associated mechanical assembly and all electronic functional requirements
  • Light Emitting Diodes (LED), Incandescent Bulbs
  • Facia Markings, compliant with SAE-AS18012 (formerly MIL-M-18012)
  • Dimming methods, including LED illumination with brightness response characteristics of an incandescent lamp
  • Annunciators
  • Sunlight readability to MIL-22885
